New Zealand Music Video Month - 1 June - Semi Lemon Kola (Propeller)

May is New Zealand Music Month, it seems ridiculous to have to dedicate a month to music made by artists in your own Country. Granted it's a celebration of local talent and radio stations suddenly play a little more local content, but this shouldn't be the case. Local music should always be embraced and exulted and broadcast to a wider audience on a more regular basis.

Often you can find yourself watching a very talented band play live to little or no people, and I can't help but wonder why local radio stations don't opt to promote live shows and even, when a band has releases, play some of their music more often than not at all.

Because NZ music month is May, and May is now over, I thought I could go one further and make June New Zealand Music VIDEO month, as there is no local tele-visual outlet for bands, or their music videos have just been long forgotten. So starting from today let me kick it off.

Semi Lemon Kola were a fantastic live band who were around in the 90's and gigging regularly. Long since disbanded with members moving on to other projects or seemingly quitting music all together their EP's and eventual album (with band name changed to Propeller), they never quite got the notoriety they truly deserved.
