What could go wrong... Did

Seriously? Everything that could go wrong did go wrong last night. I tested the wireless Microphone the day before the event, everything is perfectly fine.... On the night just before Dr. Stephanie is about to begin I get a Taxi's CB radio... With a dirty feed I'm reduced to the Top mount Mic... With the speed of the Gods themselves I managed to whip the microphone from my case, mount it and set it up in time to catch half of Dr. Stephanie's introductory sentence... From there it only got worse. For the sake of Dr. Stephanie I won't go into details. Lets just say that the mirror and those fans I was worried about came into play and I was right to be concerned.

Sometimes I'm just glad there are bad days AND good days.

Filming inside Jim... I mean GYM!

Filming a speaking engagement tonight for Dr. Stephanie Kabongo (Hormone and Anti-Aging Doctor). Should be interesting. She has informed me she will be the 3rd speaker of the evening. Met her at the venue and I must say, this one might be hard! The room isn't built for sound, the "stage" area is backed by a wall length mirror, the windows, although covered with decals, aren't soundproof and are level facing... Oh and the only way to cool the room is a series of LARGE fans... All these things don't fill me with confidence... Especially for the sound quality. I really do hope all goes well for Dr. Stephanie's sake if for nothing else.

Sometimes I love the challenge, sometimes I just want to ensure people get the best result from a potentially bad situation... In this case the situation will be played by the venue!

I'm not Sexy, nor a Wealthy Woman, but I have come away Inspired

Yesterday was a looooooooooooooooooooooong day! Especially for my battered old body. But was fun none the less.

My only concern is that the 10 tapes filmed in full 1080 HD are likely to consume a huge amount of my system resources not to mention the storage space... Tomorrow I order a 2TB HDD to compensate. Then there are all the digital files from the Kodak zi10 I had running as a wide angle.

Although I was concentrating on what I was doing the majority of yesterday I can comfortably say I learned a great deal and have actually come away feeling somewhat inspired and a tad ashamed for calling myself out on several of the negative traits discussed and earmarked by Yvonne Hilsz (even though she's Australian). Jody Jelas also had some interesting things to share in the world of online exposure... Should be a little more pro-active on the blog updates, if for nothing but a constant reminder.

Jody mentioned they intend to hold more events so keep an eye on the SIWW website if you're interested... And a woman... For obvious reasons.

SIWW event

Just got home from finishing the set up for the event I will be filming all day tomorrow for Sexy Inspired & Wealth Women.
Was great to finally meet Jody Jelas whom I've been emailing back and forth for a few weeks now, I'd love to get the chance to geek out with her a little, talk a little tech, but I suspect tomorrow will be a tad busy. Also met Yvonne Hilsz for the first time, she has an Australian accent... Because she's an Australian.

Should be an interesting day, I have been informed I will be the only male present. Good thing I'll make a terrible impression with two black eyes and several other cuts, bruises and abrasions.
